I was born with two umbilical cords because I consumed my twin in the womb. I have chimerism as a result. it's one of the few ways to get it naturally.

Found out at 19 my mom cheated on my biological father with his best friend during an ovulation phase before both men went to Desert Storm. and now I’m a tetragametic chimerism. 😳 My biological dad, the one I grew up with, doesn’t know she cheated, still to this day.

I was always told that my grandpa abandoned my grandma & dad when he was born. Just found out the other week that when my dad was born, my grandma was in her 30s & my grandpa was…12. He wasn’t a deadbeat, he was a victim that got away

Sold my mother's house when she died. buyer and I knew each other a bit so when he found old things I might want he always mailed them to me. A few years ago said he wants to meet up to talk, we do and he gives me an old jurnal, it was my moms. Clearly the creep read it and wanted me to read it too. I was told my twin died of complications when he was 3. On her deathbed she confessed to her book she ate him.

My grandmother was a full-blown southern matriarch. Born in 1919, married and buried three husbands, dozens of grandkids, and very respected by pretty much everyone who knew her. Long story short, her friend Hannah had been her lesbian lover since the 1930's until she passed in 2006. I was thirty years old and helping grandma move and found a old hat box full of "risqué" pictures and grandma just laughed about it and said Hannah had been the love of her life but being a mixed race lesbian couple wasn't going to happen. I didn't tell anyone but after my grandma passed she was buried next to Ms. Hannah and had matching headstones so everyone figured it out.

My uncle sexually assaulted his daughter's best friend. When this came out, I learnt that every man in the family had done this to a girl child and/or her friends at some point in their lives, dating back 4 generations. No one ever spoke out, many victims, it was so normalised. My eyes opened. I started seeing my uncles differently and started seeing their affection and sexual remarks for what they were. Anyway, I no longer speak to my family. I'm going to have kids one day, I refuse to expose them to that life.

Bro I just found out my aunt married a married man for her first marriage. AND THIS YEAR, at 50-something, she married another married man 😭 The plot twist? Apparently they used to like each other back then. Like??? Sir, you really spent decades with the woman who stayed through everything, only to reach old age and still be thinking about your first love. Like bro… have some shame 😭💀

Growing up, whenever I visited my dad’s old neighborhood, people would stare and whisper. Most of the time, I’d hear, “That’s the daughter of (my dad’s nickname)” Back then, I just thought maybe my dad was someone who was really respected and well-known in the area (or maybe because people thought I'm cute. No lol🤣). Turns out, my dad used to be a gang leader. He was violent, would hit people who got in his way, and apparently finds joy from fighting. He was feared in that place. I’ve also heard that he almost killed a man once after that man hurt his little sister, although I’m not completely sure about this part. And mind you, he was COMPLETELY different from the dad I grew up with. The dad I know is someone who fears and serves God. Turns out, my mom played a huge part in changing him and bringing him closer to the Lord. Having three daughters also became a huge reason for him to change.

My mom was SA’d by her step father when she was a teenager. I grew up thinking he was the best grandpa in the world. Only found out after he died what a POS he was. Looking back my parents never left me alone with him and now I know why.

Found out my grandfather grew up in a violent household after he passed recently. He broke that cycle. He was a great man that rarely even raised his voice. He had expectations and he was stern, but still did it with love and kindness that would be hard to match. Figured I'd throw in some positivity for this thread.
