You are wrong, lady. Being born poor does NOT mean you will remain poor. If that were true, it would mean poverty is heritable and that is NOT true. Circumstances do not define your future. Hard work, determination, and the choices you make are what shape your life,not where you started. Many started with nothing and built empires. Your birth is not your destiny.

I understand the point you’re trying to make, because being born poor in Nigeria puts you at a serious disadvantage. But saying that if you’re born poor, you’re destined to die poor is simply not true. Poverty can make the journey much harder, but it doesn’t determine the destination. There are Nigerians who were born into very modest circumstances and used their talent, creativity, education, persistence and opportunities to completely change their lives. Look at people like Wizkid and Olamide, who came from relatively humble backgrounds and built hugely successful careers from their talent and creativity. There are also countless entrepreneurs, entertainers, athletes and professionals who started with very little and built something for themselves. And this is where I agree with part of your argument: not everyone will escape poverty, and not everyone will become wealthy. The system is unequal, opportunities are limited, and hard work alone does not guarantee success. But that is precisely why we should fight for a society that gives people a genuine chance, not tell poor people that their fate has already been decided. Your circumstances at birth may determine where you start, but they do not necessarily determine where you finish. Some people will remain poor despite their best efforts, while others will find a way out. That possibility alone proves that being born poor is not a life sentence.

You “might” not “will”, its not certainly the same for everyone tho , smart work with consistency ,efforts and confidence leads the ways. But the youths today are deluded that rizq will locate you where ever you are so most feel reluctant and then all of a sudden they turn to realize that age is not by their side 🥺

I concord with everything you say. the reason why many Nigerians will never accept a communist regime is because they believe that their time will come when they will become rich, they believe their time will come where they can buy expensive cars and big phones and acts like they are better than their neighbours. I like to do them a public service favor of reminding them that they will forever be poor and their time will never come. the only thing that will make it possible for you to have a comfortable life in this country is if we divert our system of government to communism and we are led by a man or a woman who does not believe in hoarding wealth, that way everybody can have a good life leave their full length and die peacefully. your time will never come for you to be an elite, it is no longer the 1% it is now the 0.00001% and you will never get there, so the best thing we can do is to fight for a system that gives us equal playing fields and a comfortable life.
