HARIPUR: The search for five-year-old Ayat Noor, who has been missing for 15 days, intensified after police arrested three suspects in connection with her alleged abduction and sexual assault. According to Haripur police, the suspects Usman, Talha and Qasim confessed before a judicial magistrate to abducting and sexually assaulting the child. Police say the suspects allegedly claimed that Ayat Noor was thrown into the grounds of a fertiliser factory, but she has not been found there. More than 300 male and female police personnel, along with multiple investigation teams, are participating in the search. Authorities are also using information obtained from the suspects and evidence gathered through CCTV footage and other investigative techniques to locate the child. Despite the arrests, Ayat Noor has neither been recovered alive nor has her body been found, and her whereabouts remain unknown. The case has sparked strong public anger in Haripur. Ayat’s father, relatives, civil society members and political figures blocked the Karakoram Highway for around six hours, demanding the child’s recovery and accountability.
