i think situations like this especially happens when people try to be super progressive without actually deconstructing their own phobias and instead, put marginalized groups on pedestals and over compensate by over correcting their new found empathy which is just not helpful at the end of the day. Also i really resent this idea that trans women experience womanhood outside of patriarchy…being excluded from society doesnt mean you are outside of civilization itself, in fact the exclusion is part of the patriarchal oppression that shapes everyones experiences. In the end we are all performing gender under the patriarchy.

Hey Isabelle, I'm a fan of a lot of your videos and content, however, I'd like to point out something that may be of benefit for you in the future, the congregation of terfs in your comment section should say something to you and alert you to re-evaluate somethings whether it be the rhetoric you use or otherwise, centrism always attracts right wingers and reactionaries and that is not good, it is not the way to go

like others have said, i am a big fan of yours but i can't agree with the 'no debate' over whether trans women are women. gender critical beliefs are WORIADS - worthy of respect in a democratic society according to the british legal system. the fact that women speaking out about their opinions and feeling uncomfortable are met with this 'no debate' is a big part of the problem, women are silenced with terms like terf and bigot just like words like witch and btch were used in the past, it is misogyny repackaged. if you disagree that's ok but shutting down free speech is not

absolutely. the lack of nuance and introspection is very telling. everyone has these tools of mass communication like tiktok but very few prepare themselves to use it in the smartest way possible and understand it's reach. specially influencers from countries that have a tradition of stablishing themselves as the center of the world and the hegemony (thats my own judgment sorry, but i feel entitled to say so as a southamerican) and i do believe they get swept away by the need to stay (hate to say it) woke without any deconstruction of the ideals they stand up for (which can be very noble, such as the advocacy for a safer space for trans women)

In philosophy this is what’s called the “epistemic burden”. Not so who says what, but who bears the burden of saying the thing in the first place. Because she doubled down and refused to engage in the debate about any marginalised folks she harmed, serves to illustrates that she is engaging in these conversations disingenuously. And thus, you are correct, showed us what she really thinks. She hasn’t unpacked her own internalised misogyny and therefore can’t engage in the debate in a genuine fashion. The big red flag for me is she didn’t stop and say “I’m ready to learn where I went wrong”.
