@jordinarylife: You should honestly start trying elimination communication We started from the pretty much the first day and now we basically don’t change nappies at all. The only ones we really use are overnight while we’re asleep. Once you start paying attention you realise babies actually give you heaps of little signals before they need to go. We notice Leo fussing or getting restless, hold him over the potty and he just goes. And weirdly it’s actually way more convenient. Instead of cleaning poo off him, changing his clothes, wiping everything down etc, we just hold him over the potty for a minute and we’re done. He spends way less time sitting in his own pee or poo, we use barely any nappies, there’s less mess and it’s honestly become one of the easiest parts of taking care of him. You definitely don’t have to do it perfectly either. Just start offering the potty when you notice they normally go. like after waking up, during/after feeds or when they start fussing. You’ll be surprised how quickly you start picking up their cues. #homebirth #babytiktok #fertility #pregnanttiktok #nontoxicliving

I have never understood the diaper thing. I don't have kids and never will but if I had, I would do this too.

I don’t blame them. Nappies are expensive.

This isn’t a new concept—it’s been practiced for generations. My only issue is that it’s sometimes presented as eliminating diapers entirely, when babies also relieve themselves while sleeping. It can also be difficult with multiple children. But to each their own! Anything that reduces disposable diapers in our landfills is a win. 🌱

What's this comment section? Everyone is jealous! I've never seen anything more reasonable in my life! 1. You bond with your child and understand what he needs without getting him frustrated, sad or stressed out 2. You make huge economies on diapers, water and rash creams 3. You keep his skin more healthy, don't irritate it, don't trigger rashes, don't keep him wet 4. You teach the child boundaries and to rationalize. You teach him that he doesn't need to cry, but to ask about something. And you know that when he cries, means that something is really wrong! 5. The baby has happy parents, who use their energy in playing with him, entertaining him, teaching him about this world instead of changing diapers all day and soaking in poop. And for the people saying that they should let the baby be a baby: it's not like they make him wipe himself, take his own potty and clean it as well. They are keeping him clean, dry, safe, comfortable in their arms, between people who the baby loves. They are still playing with him, they are still loving him. They took their time to study and understand their baby, which 80% of parents just don't (they wait for the baby to grow on his own). The baby is healthier, the parents are rested and relaxed. Also I see no rashes on the baby and he looks very happy.
