We started with a production that was already underway when the active AI provider failed. Instead of throwing everything away and starting from zero, Dragon OS checked the state of the job and figured out exactly what had actually been affected. The completed research stayed. The approved work stayed. The finished production steps stayed. Only the piece that failed was separated. Dragon OS then evaluated another route, sent the unfinished task to a replacement provider, gave that replacement the work and information that had already been completed, and allowed the production to continue from where it stopped. Now the recovered piece has returned to the original job. The complete production passes final validation and continues to delivery. That's the larger idea I'm trying to build into Dragon OS. Real tools fail. AI providers go offline. APIs stop responding. Models change. Services become unavailable. Requirements change halfway through a project. A useful operating system shouldn't collapse every time one piece breaks. It should know what was already completed, preserve what still matters, recover the part that failed, and keep the job moving. That's what this entire five-part sequence was about. The AI failed.
