I had someone say "If young men only hear how bad men are, they won't even try to be good." Uhm, ok? If I was described negatively, I'd try to improve. No idea why young men can't? The bar is very low.

When my son gets angry and lashes out I tell him “Angry men go to jail” and then we talk about what the anger actually was. As anger is typically an overreaction to a different feeling. I also have a couple things I drill into his head. Like cleaning the toilet seat, not waiting for someone else to pick up the mess, and we practice and talk about consent a lot. He is to ask for hugs and I ask for hugs and we practice what to do with a no and how to read body language. If it’s not an enthusiastic yes, it’s a no.

As a boy (17) mom out there dating, I always tell him why I left every single man (I have high self respect and boundaries) so that he understands what is absolutely not acceptable. It's just one way that I teach him how to be a decent person now and a high value man in the future. Lead by example.

the last son at home is a good guy. now that doesn't mean he has a few weird boy things going on in his brain. Lucky for him im not scared of any conversation and im proud to say my son really does trust what I say and do. 🥰
