“HINDI NA MATATAKOT PUMUNTA SA PRIVATE HOSPITAL.” Sounds impressive,until you read the fine print. This is NOT free private hospitalization for every Filipino. It is for QUALIFIED PhilHealth members, under basic/ward accommodation, for covered services, and St. Luke’s initially allocated only 53 beds, 50 of which were already occupied na. And please stop selling the No Co-Payment Policy as if it suddenly appeared in 2026. Its legal foundation comes from the Universal Health Care Act of 2019. A useful program deserves credit. But exaggerating a limited program into “Filipinos no longer have to fear going to private hospitals” is not universal healthcare,it is universal marketing. Healthcare policy should be measured by who can actually avail of it, how many patients it can accommodate, and how much of the bill is truly covered,not by how good the soundbite looks on camera. READ THE CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU CELEBRATE THE HEADLINE.
