Honestly thought the same episode crazy. They tried the entire time to force her to meet her dead son she rather wish to forget because she loved him clearly enough to give him a better life but didn't had the heart to want contact because it would probly hurt to not be the one to raise him. Like she said she had the best choice for her and that was the best for him.
