@travis.woo.trades: Lifestyle inflation is real. Going from making $4,000 a month to significantly more, I didn’t suddenly start buying watches, designer clothes, or luxury cars. I spent it on lifestyle. Better housing. More travel. Scuba training. Pilot lessons. Health. Dating. Help around the house. Better food. More experiences. That’s what surprised me. There is always another way to spend money. The important part, for me, is making sure the spending grows slower than the investing. I still want a high savings rate. I still want to keep putting capital into assets every month. And I want to know I could reduce my lifestyle quickly if income changed. Lifestyle inflation isn’t automatically bad. The problem is when your expenses rise so fast that your freedom disappears again. Spend more if it genuinely improves your life.
