[WITCH HAT ATELIER MANGA SPOILERS] - - - hadestown au with qifrey and olruggio as perspehone and hades. however, if youre familiar with interpretations of hadestown over the years, you would recognize the direct parallels the gods have with their human counterparts, orpheus and eurydice. the NYTW version has my favorite lyrics of this dynamic, with the line of youre early i missed you being echoed back by the young lovers when orpheus turns around. For my au, qifrey as the lord of spring suffers the silverwood curse, triggered by his comfort being around olruggio too long AS WELL AS the relief of being away from him too long. qifrey has to erase olruggios memory of his curse, but in doing so, leaves olruggio confused and heartbroken each time he leaves the underworld. this dynamic is what entails the seasons, six months above and six months below, a cyclic dance of tension and heartbreak as the years pass. Olruggio in his pain, builds an empire of contraptions with his works of fire and light in attempts to make a realm comfortable like the surface, all for the sake of winning his husband's love.
