A package insert is not a list of everything scientists have proven the vaccine causes. One of the biggest sources of confusion is the section describing adverse events reported after a vaccine was approved. These reports matter—they can help identify potential safety signals that deserve further investigation. But a report occurring after vaccination does not automatically mean it occurred because of vaccination. That distinction is the entire reason vaccine safety studies exist. Researchers ask questions like: • Does this event happen more often in vaccinated people than we would expect normally? • Is the association reproducible in large populations? • Is there a consistent timing or dose-response relationship? • Do different types of studies find the same signal? • Is there biological and clinical evidence supporting causation? Sometimes that investigation does identify a real vaccine-associated risk—and when it does, recommendations, warnings, or labeling can change. Other times, large studies show that something reported after vaccination occurs at the same rate in vaccinated and unvaccinated populations, providing evidence against a causal relationship. So when someone screenshots a package insert and says, “See! The manufacturer admits the vaccine causes all of these things,” they’re skipping the most important question: Did the vaccine actually cause it? Package inserts provide important information. Adverse-event reports generate questions. Scientific studies help answer those questions. That isn’t hiding vaccine risks. That’s how vaccine safety surveillance is supposed to work.
