my wellness check caught me a marijuana charge. boss called the cops cause he was worried after he fired me, cops barged into my apartment to find a dude down on his luck, smoking some weed. they charged me for the weed, confiscated everything, and then left the supposedly at risk guy without checking his mental state.

Oh the duality of being a cop.. on one hand “why are you questioning him so much it’s his phone and his business” on the second hand he verifies he’s alive doesn’t ask any additional questions then the next day you find out the guy committed suicide overnight.. the sister called in a wellness check for a reason he’s doing something that’s out of the norm.

Chill y'all, its a wellness check, he's asking the additional questions to just make conversation and confirm he's not suicidal or anything. "My phone's been off" without a reason is a HUGE potential red flag for depression and a concern that he didn't want anyone stopping him from hurting himself. Just trying to serve the community, this is a perfect wellness check, super positive tone and sounds genuinely concerned versus lazy ass "well he answered the door, concerns cleared."
