Hi. Surveyor here. If your house was built pre 2000 please for the love of god assume anything fibrous/textured, pebble like (search vermiculite) or cement like may contain asbestos for example textured ceiling or wall finishes, roof/wall Insulation, corrugated or board like materials used on outbuildings, floor tiles, flues, ceiling or wall boarding…the list goes on and on. DO NOT DISTURB ANYTHING, sample it before you mess with it people PLEASE 😭 Jesus wept, this is giving me palpitations.

my nan died in oct from mesothelioma after cooking with an oven lined with asbestos. Just cooking.. so those commenting should be ok, isnt ok in my opinion and majority of people dont know they have it and just think its asthma or copd until death. you can see all bits glistening on the video that he'll be breathing in.

Unfortunately it’s far too late and you have potentially exposed yourself and others to asbestos. Stop what you are doing and exit the room via the outside door. Seal off the area and don’t let anyone into the area until this has been tested. Once it’s established what the material is you can carry out the appropriate action with the correct advice. I’d advise bagging your clothes and getting yourself decontaminated before entering your home or car to avoid further contamination. If you don’t know what the material is always assume the worst.

Go and see your gp so there is a record of exposure. If you were to get problems they will be able to help/believe you more. Get an asbestos engineer out to see what else is going on and do a clean up . There will be fibres everywhere once disturbed. These fibres cannot be broken down by our bodies so stay in our lungs forever thats why its so dangerous and well worth the money to get it removed professionally
