The fact that Rockstar chose Wanderlust for a GTA 6 nightclub scene is actually so fitting. The song isn’t simply about being addicted to love. It’s about escapism, desire and people constantly chasing something to fill a void, while Abel sounds almost painfully self aware of the world he’s surrounded by. He’s watching people chase love, pleasure and excitement without really understanding why they’re doing it.
That’s exactly why it fits GTA 6’s world. Vice City is built around excess, money, sex, nightlife, crime and constantly chasing the next thing. Everyone is trying to escape something or get something, whether it’s wealth, status, pleasure or love. And that’s what makes Wanderlust feel deeper than just a random Weeknd song playing in a club. The environment in GTA is basically the world Kiss Land was describing from a different perspective.
And the timing makes it even crazier. Abel has been heavily revisiting Kiss Land lately, posting songs from the album and teasing Professional during the tour. I’m not saying this confirms Kiss Land 2 because it obviously doesn’t, but it’s hard not to notice how much Kiss Land suddenly seems to be everywhere.
If Rockstar ends up using more Kiss Land songs throughout GTA 6, I genuinely think it could introduce a whole new generation to the album and make people realise how much deeper it was than just dark R&B.
