I never imagined that my first intimate experience with someone I was dating would leave me dealing with herpes. Before we had sex, my boyfriend never mentioned that he had the virus. I trusted him and believed he would be honest with me about something that could affect my health. Only a few days later, I became extremely sick and developed painful symptoms that continued for nearly two weeks. I was scared, confused, and emotionally devastated. When I finally confronted him, he admitted that he had known about his herpes diagnosis for years. What hurt me the most was knowing that he could have told me before we became intimate. I deserved the chance to ask questions, protect myself, and decide what I was comfortable with. Instead, that choice was taken away from me. I chose to walk away from the relationship because I could no longer trust him. I know herpes is common and that many people live normal lives with it, but that doesn’t mean honesty and informed consent are not important. Thankfully, I’m in a much better place now and grateful for the treatment and support that helped me. 🙏 @Doctor Uze Healing ♥️🥰
