Yes. Thank you! I’m so tired of a fake influencer saying it’s cheap. No you are paying for a luxury life and it’s not cheap. Imagine working in Vietnam and let’s say being a teacher. They make literally 600 a month.

What’s your budget? On a budget of $2,000 USD you will live as a Vietnamese. But in a budget of $6,000 live in Vietnam is extremely amazing. . $6,000 in Toronto I will live like a poor man….

But if you eat in local restaurants and buy food from very local markets everyday, you will end up sick in couple of decades. Because vietnam doesnt have/ very limited food control.

Not true! I’m here and is insanely cheap. Food , transport, even an amazing apartment will cost you 600 euros a month , you will not pay that in any other place .

Finally someone who tells it like it is! It’s the same in all the “cheap” SE Asian countries, it’s cheap if you want to live like a local, but if you want the same standard of living as you have in the west or Europe, then you are going to pay a much higher price.
You guys foreigners must take in to account how much Vnmese earn per month. Not cheap at all i would say.

I survived with 4.5 million vnd. That includes the room, electricity, water, internet, food, water, beer and cigarettes. Yes you can live cheap. Even then, it was acceptable enough. This was during COVID-19. Now I'm married so life did become a little more expensive 😂

I had had 5 years living in France and just moved back to Vietnam a month ago. I cannot image how expensive of accommodations in Vietnam. The pork or chicken in the supermarket has a same price in Paris, and for renting, a normal studio (less than 20m2) , it would be taken about $200-300 in Saigon. But the average salary for a Vietnamese is only $300-400 per month. That’s crazy

Idk I’m In Phu quoc in the resort area staying in a very nice hotel in the middle of everything I pay $300 a month and eat out 2 meals a day for less then $5.00 a day. Obviously I could spend far more than that if I wanted to but a person can easily and happily live for even less than I pay
