Robert, This speech was one of your more personal and poignant. It was beautiful, sad, hopeful and true. I had a difficult time keeping my tears from rolling down my face. Once again- while you spoke, I thought of all of the lives lost to hate, ignorance and fear. The number of the brave who marched in peace to affect a change. The words they spoke that are etched on my heart. “I have a have a dream that one day, this nation will rise up, and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.' I have a dream.”

Thank you.
Yours is the voice of not just one generation, but every generation since the 1950s through today and tomorrow and into the future of our children and grandchildren. And we thank you.
So much has been put at risk these last 20 months, so much needs to be fought for yet again, so much needs rebuilt in a stronger, better way. Thank you for explaining what has been happening and what could be lost and what needs to be done.
Thank you for all you do and for your beautiful, inspiring and powerful words.

Our history must remain unchanged not whitewashed over! The blood the tears of those before us who fought for our rights that we must fight against to protect. Lives who were brave & undoubtedly meaningful for more people than we knew. Love your content to give us the strength when we feel weak or unsure if our fight matters! THANK YOU 💙

This was definitely one of your most beautiful, emotional and thought provoking writings. We Americans take so much for granted and forget how important the past is to our future, as we tend to a busyness that loses the value of compassion and empathy to humanity. Let us not become an I me nation but a we us nation.

The aerial view of the scenery and you crossing that bridge is breathtaking. It provides the perfect back drop as you recite the story of your journey so far. It's been a long tough journey and I am so happy that you have finally made it to your first home. I hope being there rejuvenates you and brings you the energy you need for the last leg of your journey. You and your companions have accomplished a tremendous feat for advancing the cause of restoring voters' rights. You should be proud. Defiance til death!

Professor Mobius :
I’m from Greenville, was a professor and dean as Tougaloo. Then HIV director at the state health department. I read the death list every week, people my age and town. Then the death threats started. Get out, they said, all my life. But now it was real and I had a family. I sold family land dating to 1820 to move us as far as we could, the Pacific coast. No thunderstorms here, no crickets and fringe at night. We say we are refugees. My home is gone and I grieve it daily. I will never fish my grandpa’s pond, tend the graves, see the green tornado sky, smell the tomato plants or eat fresh okra, ever again. Like Pilate, I washed my hands at the end of the bridge and the dust from my feet.
