As an Economic student I’m glad to say that I argued with a friend over this same issue that, preventing the growth of money (preventing the supply of more money into the system by BoG) as a way of curbing inflation is wrong becos it drastically loses attention on unemployment rate, poverty/low standard of living and as a result the increment in arrears of some unpaid govt workers. There must be a diff. exploitation of solutions rather than this

First of all the goldbod didn’t incur any lost. Secondly what I IMF is saying that Bank of Ghana should stop sponsoring the gold purchase program and give the mandate to goldbod so that goldbod will look for the finances in the market to run that program. Simply means goldbod should go out and borrow money for the program not from bank of Ghana. Which I think doesn’t make sense. They want to do everything possible to put us back on the borrowing market.
