With the proper rituals, knowledge, and divine protection, the soul could continue its journey into eternity. Gold symbolized the imperishable flesh of the gods, while deep blue and turquoise evoked the heavens, protection, and rebirth. Even the smallest ornament could carry spiritual purpose. That is what fascinates me most about Ancient Egypt. Their world was filled with layers of meaning. The moon could measure time. Jewelry could offer protection. Words could become magic.
