I don’t think its hate. I think long time thrifters hate how things have changed in part to social media and the popularity of reselling now. Thrift stores use to be full of bangers for dirt cheap. Stores have caught on. Now Goodwill has the online auction they pull high end brands/jewelry from stores now. It wasn’t like that years ago. It is what it is…Some of us old timers miss the good old days!! But then again some people are just hateful and rude…ignore them and continue to do your thang b/c you are kill’n it! Happy thrifting 🫡

I am an avid Thrifter, but I don’t understand the hate for resellers. I will buy stuff from resellers that I cannot find thrifting myself. At the end of the day, we are all saving stuff from the landfill.

I feel like it may be less about you and more about maybe behavior she has observed from other resellers. The ones at my goodwills are truly awful. They are aggressive and entitled. They also line up carts blocking ppl from getting to racks of clothes. It’s maddening!

people are so brazen and ignorant...resellers are saving the planet and keeping a lot of people employed. And the Goodwill prices are getting out of control. My local one has utilized the whole front left of the store as a designated Chicos shopping area and everything is $24.99. That brand barely even sells!

For all she knows you could’ve been looking up the brand for yourself! Sometimes I’m buying for myself and want to see if the price is worth it because thrift stores are getting pricey.

I don’t think people hate resellers, and I don’t think that they’re uneducated -I believe it’s the fact that resellers have literally taken the fun out of thrifting because in my opinion, a thrift store is for those who like a good deal or who can’t afford to pay retail price and then some resellers take all the good stuff. I too I have found a lot of great stuff, and occasionally have pulled out my phone to check if it’s worth buying, but I wear it first and then once I decide to get rid of it, then I sell it. And it is fun to look up new brands. I am with you on that. Cause there’s so much out there designer wise. I did find a Barbour jacket for 12.99. Wore it a couple times and then sold it for almost $200 so yeah, thrifting is fun when you find good stuff! 👍🏽🙂
