Bethie.. I'm tired. I LOVE my hydrangeas. they are gorgeous and big and beautiful. I have 5 and only 3/5 bloomed. two of the three only had blooms on less than half of the plant. I don't understand the science behind it but I don't want to give up on my plants. my big hydrangea I planted when we first moved into our home(2019) when I was pregnant with my first son 😭 this plant holds so much sentimental value.

So I just leave them? Sorry I’m new to gardening and I think these are what are in my flower beds. They like dry out and look like dead twigs late fall/ winter and then early spring. I just totally leave them even tho they look dead? Lol

I’ve had some for 23 yrs. They’re stunning green bushes but never bloom. I DO NOT PRUNE until late spring. Last year out of no where they were stunning with flowers. How can I protect them from a spring frost since I’m guessing that’s the issue?
