Canada is a sovereign country that has its own interests. The US government isn't interested in a fair trade deal after they laid out the last trade deal...they did. Canada has made many concessions over time and we now need to focus on continuing to develop trade and security relationships with other countries so no one country has such influence on Canada. Trump and his MAGA group didn't want a trade deal, they wanted a surrender. Canada is moving on.

Thanks so much for your post. Really admire and respect both of you so much and love your insights and analysis on the many shows you appear on. You're spot on with this analysis about us here in Canada having had enough of the annexation/51st State rhetoric and tariff attacks. And bigger picture, these attacks on Canada are the very thing, you can bet, that Putin has been mentoring Trump about, in his efforts to sow discord and tension between democracies. And Trump has bought into the vision Putin has sold him of Trump controlling all of the Americas. So, Putin's puppet doing his thing again, in trying to break apart what has been one of the best and strongest democraric alliances in the world. Our anger right now is fully directed at Trump and MAGA America. To the tens of millions of Americans who can't stand this too, we're allies with you in this fight. Stay strong. We'll do our part from abroad.
