Less than 15 days until she sleeps forever 🖕🏼 -THE MURDER OF COLLEEN SLEMMER — 1995 On January 12, 1995, 19-year-old Job Corps student Colleen Slemmer was lured from the Job Corps campus in Knoxville, Tennessee, to an isolated area of the University of Tennessee Agricultural campus. Christa Pike, then 18, was accompanied by her boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp, and another student. According to evidence presented at trial, Pike had discussed killing Slemmer the day before, telling a friend she wanted to kill her because she had “just felt mean that day.” During the attack, Slemmer was subjected to prolonged physical violence involving a box cutter, a small meat cleaver, rocks, asphalt and kicks. The Tennessee Supreme Court described the murder as involving torture and severe physical abuse beyond what was necessary to cause death. After Slemmer was killed, Pike returned to the Job Corps campus and reportedly showed other students a piece of Slemmer’s skull that she had taken from the scene. Evidence at trial also included statements Pike made about the killing and a letter she later wrote to Shipp. Pike was convicted of premeditated first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. In 1996, a jury sentenced her to death after finding aggravating circumstances including that the murder involved torture or serious physical abuse. Her death sentence was upheld by the Tennessee courts. #truecrimetiktok #truecrimetok #fypシ
