Literally were holding life together by a thread right now and the cost of raising are kids is crushing, I love my kids and dont regret them, but financially If I knew what I know now, I would have chosen not to have kids. My oldest is only 10. and post covid has been crushing.

My husband’s entire paycheck goes to car payments, mortgage, & daycare but he split each check for bill in 1/2. Like $1,000 for daycare he takes $500 each paycheck towards daycare. I manage everything else. Costco & Walmart. Baby stuff we bought from facebook marketplace in the richest town next over because rich people take care of their stuff but they make it super cheap. I got a bottle washer for $100 when it was $400 and same for bedroom stuff. However my grandma always gives us groceries because she over buys (she does this for all her grandchildren) my in laws have us over once a week for dinner helps too.

We live with my grandparents. We spend 2200 a month for two kids in daycare.

Yeah it’s a struggle 😅 We do not do daycare for this exact reason. We have a 4yo, 2yo, and one on the way. When we had my oldest I decided to serve tables part time so I could be home during the day while my husband works. His paycheck takes care of monthly bills and my tips are all for food, gas, and other necessities. It’s honestly a great gig! If we are short on the month then I can usually pick up extra shifts to make up the rest of what we need.

If one persons salary is the same as childcare, staying home makes sense. It did for us! We started with twins so it would’ve been two infants in daycare which would’ve been more than my teacher salary.
