@othayaglobalnews: 10,000 POLICE RECRUITS TO JOIN NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE THIS FRIDAY: A total of 10,000 police recruits are set to join the National Police Service this Friday, August 28, 2026, following their passing-out parade at the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo, Nyeri County. The parade will be presided over by the Commander-in-Chief, President William Ruto, marking the graduation of a new cohort of Police Constables after nine months of rigorous training. Inspector General of the National Police Service Douglas Kanja, speaking after a full-dress rehearsal at Kiganjo, expressed satisfaction with the level of training and preparedness demonstrated by the recruits. The new officers are joining the service after more than three years without a fresh recruitment, at a time when the country is preparing for the 2027 General Election and heightened demand for security services. IG Kanja further announced that President Ruto is expected to unveil new police uniforms for the officers during the passing-out ceremony. The Inspector General urged the recruits to become ambassadors of police reforms, reminding them that they have a responsibility to uphold professionalism, integrity and respect for members of the public. Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service Eliud Lagat, who also attended the rehearsal, praised the transformation of the recruits and affirmed that they are ready to undertake their policing responsibilities.
