@dadgermanproject1: 🔥 THE ENTEBBE EXPRESSWAY TOLL SAGA: WHAT IS PARLIAMENT QUESTIONING? 🇺🇬 Have you been following the questions being raised by Mwine Mpaka and Parliament about the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway? Here is the issue in simple terms 👇🏽 Government hired Egis, a French company, to operate and maintain the expressway. Egis worked with local companies, including Pinnacle Security and Abubaker Technical Services. But after the Egis arrangement ended, Pinnacle became the direct toll-collection operator. Now Parliament is asking a very important question: 💰 If the expressway collects roughly UGX 42 billion a year, why is Pinnacle’s reported annual contract about UGX 36 billion? That would leave only about UGX 6 billion before considering other costs. But the questions don’t stop there. Parliament is also looking into the tolling technology, vehicle records, revenue reconciliation, contractor payments and how government independently verifies the money collected. There have even been concerns raised about thousands of vehicle records that could not initially be reconciled. And this is where the debate becomes bigger than Pinnacle vs Egis. 👉🏽 Who controls the data? 👉🏽 Who verifies the number of vehicles using the road? 👉🏽 How much money should actually be collected? 👉🏽 How much is deposited? 👉🏽 How much does government pay contractors? 👉🏽 And ultimately, how much does the Ugandan taxpayer actually benefit? ⚠️ Important: These questions are part of a parliamentary investigation. They should not automatically be interpreted as proof that any company committed fraud or wrongdoing. The real issue is transparency, value for money and accountability for public resources. 🇺🇬 What do you think?
