He suffered bruising, swelling, and bleeding around his left eye and was treated at Bellevue Hospital before recovering. A suspect was later arrested and charged. Years before becoming known for Fargo, Boardwalk Empire, Reservoir Dogs, and countless other roles, Buscemi served with FDNY Engine Company 55. After the September 11 attacks, he returned to the firehouse and spent several days working alongside firefighters at Ground Zero, helping search through the rubble.
