@thom.code: I Built a 3D City Using Only Text Characters I saw a 3D ASCII donut once, and I haven't been the same since. So I built a full 3D city — buildings, physics, lighting, ocean waves with realistic sound — using nothing but text characters. No game engine. No external libraries. No images. Just one single HTML file and a lot of raycasting math. This video covers how I turned a flat 2D canvas into a 3D world using raycasting, how depth, shading, and ambient occlusion make flat characters look like real buildings, and how I built 3D positional audio from scratch — so sound gets quieter with distance and even muffles when you hide behind a wall. No people were added. Some things are better left alone with a donut and an empty ocean.
