@tylerallison92: Most jobs for electricians in the oilfield pay around $45-$55/hr but there are outliers that pay higher. Rope access electrician for $60-$95/hr is a big jump in pay!
substation electrician isnt the same as an everyday electrician!

Substation electrician is a lot different than your every day red seal electrician. Completely different career path and very hard to get into. The wage growth in this field has not been good in the last 15 years. Go in for electrical technologist and then get onto a NETA shop. Then you will see those kind of wages.

Self employed electrician in GP. I'm $94 reg, $34/hr for my truck, OT after 8 hours and weekends are straight OT. The best part, home every night for supper with the family. Second best part, it only seems to be getting busier and busier every year.

You don’t need to go work way up there. I make the same in the nuclear industry here in southern Ontario

Not a bad gig but a boring/ repetitive one. I walked away from the sub apprenticeship cause the hours arent always good and I wanted to travel / work storm as a lineman, which its a higher classification so up north they dont even have sub techs just lineman doing their job. Plus those wages are rare and low hours. But if you wanna be home all the time and not work that much or not push your body too hard its a great opportunity.

That substation electrician job is in the states and has nothing to do with oilfield. I work for the company.

What are the electricians doing? I only do automation, don’t bend pipe or any of that bullshit. I troubleshoot & install automation purely
