1. A blind person must keep their dog in harness at all times. 2. A blind person cannot be separated from their dog 3. The harness WILL set off the detector, that is normal 4. Instead of pointing, use clear verbal descriptions 5. You will need to perform a pat down of the harness (and if you’re lucky you’ll get a lick) 🐶

My god I remember my son and I got patted down cus I had to carry him through the detector, he was scared to go through and it went off, I told the person he is autistic. they separated him from me for a patdown, i kept telling him how its ok and dont be scared. he cried so much in my arms 😢

God this is PAINFUL 😳 (separately or keep them together) if thot together - Bring them both through. it's ok when the metal detector goes off.. the person gets a pat down and the officer just has to pat / frisk the harness down.

I’ve experienced TSA as a person with all my eyesight, that was a terrible interaction, I can’t believe how uneducated and disrespectful most are, I’m sorry for his experience

Honestly this is so infuriating. Traveling while having a disability is already a stressful situation, and making it harder by not having appropriate protocols in terms of accessibility compliance is flabbergasting.

I’m too early, it’s criminal. But I have a blind sister in law (same disease as Paul too!) and she goes through this every time we fly. It’s so frustrating

Had a TSA agent tell my mom she needed throw her EPIPEN away cuz it was a needle. She didn’t understand the concept that my mom needs it in case of an allergic reaction to help save her life 💀 the TSA lady still fought her on it so we had to get someone higher up to explain it to her
