I retired at 48 here in the states. People ask, especially at appointments, “Oh, what do you do for a living?” and I respond, “I’m retired.” People can’t comprehend not working. Or, how someone isn’t, may be better to say. Inevitably it’s followed with, “What do you do all day?” Sigh, “I have dogs and mow the lawn…” 🤷♂️It’s so peaceful and I’m happy. I have no need to fill it with reason of being. 💯💯💯

my cousin had a fridge fall on him while working at a major hardware store and broke his back. it has been 4 months and multiple surgeries and he still has yet to receive a penny. The American dream is a nightmare.

My finger went through an industrial food processor at work- the boss told me to walk 4blocks to the hospital. My coworkers wouldn’t let me walk, so my boss fired the girl who gave me a ride. I needed 17stitches. I had to pay out of pocket???? Then the boss closed the store 2months later, for “renovations.” and told us all we’d be compensated for the time off. He reopened the store in a different city and none of us got our jobs back. Yayyyyyyy… the American dream……….

I slipped a disc 2 months ago and in getting 60% pay and my job replaced me so I'll be on unemployment once I'm recovered... which in Alabama only pays a little over $200/month. I won't be able to support my family, so if I dont find a job while I'm disabled, we might wind up homeless. Yayyy USA USA USA
