Jack Griffith, the owner of @exeptstudios, had the caucasity to create an entire clothing collection using the Rising Sun Flag... a symbol associated with Imperial Japan and the horrific war crimes, atrocities, colonial violence and genocide committed against Asian and Pacific Island communities. I will be discussing what this flag represents, the history behind it, and the women and girls who were subjected to s*xual slavery under the Japanese military. Our history and the suffering of our people should NEVER be turned into an aesthetic or something to profit from. There is absolutely no excuse for using symbols associated with war crimes esp after people have already educated you about why they are so traumatic and offensive.
