You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. My family and I have had the toughest time coping with the call placed on us to help plant a church. Plenty of signs to confirm the calling, reassuring us in the waiting, etc. However, selling our home has been very hard. slashing the price, trying gimmicky ways to sell it, etc. struggling to find the joy in the season. Until today, what you just said completely convicted me and I thank God for you making this video. I am in tears my brother. thank you so very much for being obedient to Christ and following Him. Still praying for your family. God bless you sir!

I ask this with love and respect. Do you believe the modern Bible is the infallible word of God? Why or why not? I personally think God is real, but the Holy Bible was corrupted by mankind.

We were talking about this in the context of Genesis 31 yesterday. Essentially our pastor described it as there needs to first be a push and a pull. Something pushing you from what you are currently doing, and something pulling you to the new thing. Just a push is not sufficient. Then you seek Godly council from trusted members of your church, then you check them against what’s been revealed to you by the Holy Spirt, and then you check that against scripture. Scripture overrules spirit (because if the “spirit” contradicts Scripture, it’s not the Holy Spirit), check the council against spirit and scripture, check the push against the pull. If any of those disagree with another, keep serving in your current capacity.

I have been thinking about seminary for over a decade. I started and stopped because I felt it was more of a selfish endeavor. Now I have people asking me if I have ever thought about going and the first words that pop in my head are “I’m not a pastor”. I do love to learn about God from a biblical, theological and cultural perspective. I have dreams calling me to do it again but with God this time. I’m still reluctant to the point of.. am I just being disobedient? I really am just taking it one step at a time at this point.
