It's like these young barbers that want to charge $60 for a simple line up cut. When you call them out, they start showing you some $300 clippers and all this fancy crap that they decided to buy and pass the bill onto their customers.

My first tattoo was a $25 palm sized mystery out of a gumball machine . 6 months later I went and dropped 1k on my half sleeve with SAME said artist. Why?? Cause I liked the vibe he set and he did good work 🤷🏻♀️

I also do my $25 small tattoos every Tuesday and it’s fun ! I don’t mind it, my clients get to have a fun experience choosing a tiny tattoo that’s affordable and cutsie :) and some ppl only come for that and that’s fine 🫶🏽 im located down south in Texas 😼

I went for a Friday the 13th tattoo at a shop I've never been to before. My artist talked shit to my face the entire time about my smaller tattoos, acting like I was poor and useless and couldn't afford anything else. Little did he know, I DO NOT book sessions without trying artists out first (I've gotten horrible big pieces in the past and like to try before I buy now). A $20 tattoo will show me if I want to book a session. I took my $2,000 to a different tattoo artist who was respectful and did a wonderful $20 tattoo on me months before. That disrespectful artist who thought he was above a flash sale, lost his tip that day and a booking for the next week. When you act like you don't want to tattoo a client, then why would I come back? Was his art good? yes, did I like the tattoo he put on me? yes, it was executed well and he was one of the only people to not blow lines on my thin skin. But his attitude about even doing the tattoo is the reason he will NEVER be my artist.

i got a 40 get what you get, the artist hated that it wasnt original work and barely cared about slapping it on me. never went back. got a 25 dollar flash and the artist cared about what i was getting, i have since spent hundreds in that shop. its agreat way to test the artist vibe without committing to a huge piece
