NYAMBARIA BOYS: 21 DAYS TO OPEN THE BOOKS A fresh accountability chapter has opened at Nyambaria Boys High School after we today served the Principal with a formal demand letter seeking answers, records and explanations on several matters of public interest. The questions cover alleged procurement conflict of interest, including a tender reportedly awarded to Mr. Josiah Makori, said to be a close relative of the school administration and also an Acting Principal at Riakworo Secondary School. We have also raised questions about medical services provided to students in 2025, allegedly involving Mrs. Christine Nyangau, and another health practitioner reportedly stepping in when she was unavailable. The demand seeks clarification on their appointment, professional authorisation, remuneration, clinic operations, medical records, medicines and the authority under which students were attended to. Then there is the December 2025 Mombasa teachers' retreat, where Mrs. Christine Nyangau is reported to have participated in a teachers' meeting discussing substantive school matters. We are asking in what official capacity she attended and under whose authority. The demand further seeks a full account of the alleged Ksh.50 million Ministry of Education funding associated with the school's multi-purpose hall — including the money received, procurement, contractor, payments, certification, balance and current status. And there is the curious matter of an alleged Ksh.500,000 “token and/or accountability” amount. Was it requested? Was it received? By whom? For what purpose? And where is the accountability? These are questions, not conclusions. The documents and the school's response should tell the story. The Principal has been given 21 days from receipt of the demand letter to provide a comprehensive, documentary-supported response. The questions have been served. The clock has started.
