The Republican Party in Indiana wants to bankrupt Indiana public education - between the voucher system and SB1 there are many districts that will be within the next five years. Don’t forget the other part of SB1 that a district can be consolidated with another depending on the percentage of vouchers used regardless of the performance of the district.

Most teachers in my school vote Republican every single time! It blows my mind. Trust me when they complain, I ask them who they voted for? Then I tell them they are getting exactly what they voted for!

The school systems could cut a lot of the positions in administration vs roles that deal directly with students such as IAs and teachers but they don't want to look there for savings. I vote republican and married to a teacher who is also votes republican. You act as though Democrats are the only ones who care about education which is ridiculous.

Our teachers are paid pretty well compared to most states. You are making a huge assumption and isn’t correct. Why not pay the teachers better and have less non teachers ?

This is BS and you know it sir. Teacher salaries are largely dependent on local revenue (i.e.property taxes). NOT federal funding. So if you intend to raise teacher salaries (which is fine) make it clear HOW you intend to do that. And what kind of increase we should expect to see on our property taxes. Oh…SB1 was passed to make reform changes to SNAP benefits, welfare reform and Medicaid. There is a fraud problem there you know. Be better sir….not all of us are this naive.
