Chaos in the Surf... One Line Saved the Day! 🐦🔥 The pelicans just moved in. They dove straight into the bait zone and tangled all three rigs, turning a clean setup into chaos in seconds. In surf fishing, birds like pelicans often signal baitfish activity, but they can also disrupt your spread when they get too aggressive around the lines. Despite the mess, the last line stayed tight, and ended up with a fish on it. 🎣 If a bird gets hooked or tangled, never just cut the line and leave it. Always take time to safely remove the hook and free the bird properly. In some cases, you can gently cover the bird’s eyes with a rag or towel to help calm it down and reduce stress, but today it wasn’t needed, and we were able to safely remove the hook without issue.
