@europeanspaceagency: Ariane 6 is going far, far away! 🚀 For the first time, Ariane 6 is taking a satellite into Geostationary transfer orbit. The satellite will be MTG-I2, which it will move itself from the temporary transfer orbit into a circular Geostationary orbit. The MTG-I2 satellite, developed by ESA for @EUMETSAT will produce images for weather forecasting in Europe in unprecedented detail. This mission will give us new data products and improve European weather services, with improved nowcasting of severe weather events.
