My sweet boy had diabetes for four years. I managed it with insulin injections. It’s scary, but manageable especially with how you love your babies! We even used Freestyle Libre sensors on him to check his glucose. We stopped that after a few months of him ripping them off! His diabetes was managed up until the end. We just had to put him down a month ago due to cancer and liver failure. Praying for Kev!

Oh he is so upset. I had to take my girl, jade, out of her carrier in the car because she got so upset she made herself sick 5 minutes after we left the house. Here is her clawing the crap out of my shoulder.

Ask your vet about Bexacat. It’s one pill once a day, and you don’t have to do any monitoring of their food. My cat has diabetes and we’ve been managing it really well with the pill. (You can crush it up in their food). If you start with pill and it doesn’t work well, you can switch to insulin. But if you start with insulin you have to stay with insulin. You can’t decide to switch to the pill

If it is diabetes it’s not as expensive as you think because they use so little insulin. A 3ml kids vial lasted us like 3 months because my cat only got 1 unit twice a day. Using goodrx coupons it was about $45 a vial. The syringes cost more that was about $30 a month

I am a veterinarian only because I’ve seen every episode of Dr. Pol multiple times. I have no other credentials other than that. But there was an episode of Dr. Pol where a cat came in and they suspected a had diabetes. The doctor said that they had to test the cat multiple times because when cats get stressed, their blood sugar raises. So hopefully Kevin is not diabetic, hopefully she was just extremely stressed out

I had a cat growing up that was MY cat. Girl was FERAL and I was the only one who could catch her and hold/touch her. She would yowl when she had to go to the vet the same way

I had a diabetic cat, it’s manageable can be expensive. Get the insulin thru Costco or Sam’s Club pharmacy, where I’m at best prices hands down. Do the yearly checks and be watchful with the behavior around water and food. My kitty bois diabetes ended up going into remission but then entered kidney failure. 6 years of diabetes took its toll on him. Kevy may have to be an indoor kitty if she is indeed diabetic, that may not sit well with her.

My cat is the same way! She’s so loud in the car but so quiet in the vet! She ALSO! just got diagnosed with diabetes! We went medication route. (Apparently rare vets recommend medication over insulin) it’s definitely scary at first but it does get better!
