@uknostalgia00: Pt.1 Back then in Britain, after the war, everything came out of a little book of coupons — so much butter, so much sugar, so much meat, and never much of any of it. A whole week's cheese would sit in your palm. You queued for hours, often not knowing what for until you reached the front, and when the meat ran out the whole queue groaned and went home with nothing.
