I have a question. I want to get into breeding. the dogs I have are tested by the embark genetic and breed test. and when they become of age im going to get them health tested by the vet. they do not have papers so im kinda gonna be backyard breeding but I want to do my due diligence to be as ethical as I can when doing this. do you have any advice ? .... they are great danes. I want to contribute to the breed and one day possibly establish a working line again.

had an talk with a lady about adopting vrs buying dogs and she got made at mw for saying i want a well-bred purebred labrador 😭. "your dog you adopted is completely fine tho" girl- it's my family dog, i didn't choose her. bonus We were told that 115lbs German Shepherd mix would be 60lbs. i want something i KNOW will be smaller 😭

My dog that passed last year was 17 and I got her off CL before I knew as much about BYBs. I never called her a rescue, I just would state that I wouldn’t do something like that again with what I know now, but I was also 17 at the time (literally had her half of my life), so I’m not beating myself up, just made sure to do better going forward.
