it's easier said than done with the GP unfortunately, I feel as if they just try and turn you away regardless of if your symptoms are anxiety related or not and brush it off as "just anxiety".

I’m so lucky that my GP only asked if I felt anxious once! I was seen by both cardiology & neurology within 3 months of symptoms started & I was diagnosed within 4 months with PoTS. I know people who go YEARS living with this without a treatment plan

I was told that I had anxiety for like 10 years before being diagnosed with a rare heart disease. Cardiac Sarcoidosis.

I was taking propranolol for anxiety but turns out i have asthma and was having trouble breathing, chest tightness, and a dry cough when exposed to triggers such as cold weather, smoke, exercising etc. Doctors didnt believe i had asthma because it wasn’t on my medical records as i had it in my childhood. It came back 20 years later because of the medication. I hate that my GPs kept saying its all anxiety related because it got to the point where I would wake up gasping for air at night and chest pains. I was on propranolol for 8 months until the pharmacist believed my symptoms were asthma and let me taper off it safely. I have to wait 6 months now for an inhaler but was told the asthma might clear away on its own overtime 🤨
