My puppy does just fine at night time but during the day he starts digging and whinning. I’m not sure what to do, we do have the crate in the bedroom.

Please help! I’ve done all this except use a blanket to cover the crate as it’s quite warm so didn’t want her to overheat! She’s 14 weeks almost and at night she’s absolutely fine but during the day when she’s in there as she needs to sleep or just chill out, and I leave the room, she wails the house down… I’ve tried for 5 seconds, I’ve tried for 30 minutes, makes no difference! She has stuff to chew and keep her amused in the crate but if I’m not there (I’m upstairs or I’ve gone in the garden) so she can’t hear me. She just doesn’t stop screaming! Even the neighbours have commented on how loud she is 🤦♀️

Mine does fine all day in the crate but at night when he has to potty at 12am or 3am he barks and howls when put back in his crate. 😬

My 14 week old puppy sleeps happily at night, however if we put her in the day to sleep or go out she howls so so bad she is sick 😩 I don’t know what to do, she has treats, water, toys, crate cover, radio on but she doesn’t stop

I have a 9 week old golden he settles well in his crate to sleep I only use it overnight tbh probs should use it more but even with toilet trips overnight he still goes in the crate by the morning it seems quite recent to when I wake up. Any advice?

My puppy is 9 weeks and sleeps 10pm-5am in her crate with no accidents. She poops and wees at 5am but then won’t go back in her crate. Is that enough sleep.

This is quite reassuring. I have had my dachshund puppy for nearly a week; she is eight months old. The previous owner appears to have provided no training. She is only beginning to settle in the crate, yet once I leave the room with the crate door closed, she whines and barks. That is the part I find most challenging.

my puppy is 9 weeks we crate trained from day 1 and she slept through every night since day 2 not sure what we did that worked so well but we've made sure it's comfy and she loves it

My puppy will settle and sleep if I sit near the crate but cries if I leave. She then will sleep for around 2 hours even when I’m gone. Should I put her in to cry and leave regardless?

My 8 nearly 9 week old puppy is grate going in his crate for naps during the day and sleeping at night, he sleeps in his crate downstairs and we’ve done that since night 2. However we’ve not really left him alone yet and we’ve had him for 5 days. When you suggest leaving him alone and going out do you put them in awake with an enrichment toy/activity as a distraction? Any tips very grateful as this is the next thing I need to get on top of before heading back to work

Hi my 14 weeks pupoy takes all daytime naps and overnight sleep in crate. He wakes at 6.30 for a pee and when I try put him back in he screams the place down. I don’t want to start my day at that time do I just ignore him or will that cause issues like anxiety and hating the crate?

I’m getting a collie pup in 2 weeks for create training is it easier with a lead on? As ive seen people use leads for create training & also when taking them to toilet should you have them on lead? I’ve seen so many different ways or is it just up to the owner?

Our crate for our 11 week old puppy is in the front room by the sofa not right next to it but near it, he cries in there in the day time but not at night (think it’s FOMO)/fear of missing out, would you suggest we moved the crate somewhere else more quite when he’s in there in the day?

mine seems to hate her crate and it might just be her being a teen but shes gotten worse and we cant leave her in there unless shes asleep. Its made meals impossible and shes very resistant to going to sleep
