Question, bought a used truck, doing the read, it doesn’t show the vin. My guess is a corrupted vin due to some shoddy tunes. do you have any input?

With the over the air updates, they know everything about the truck, they know if it’s deleted and don’t care and will fuck your shit up so you bring it in for service, my tech recommendation is to turn off over the air updates

would you think plugging a def tank and module to a lwn duramax would have the same effect when retuning as it has a permanent dash code with tune but will remove it with a reset file

Do you have to use GM software to program the def tank? Then do your steps?

sounds like the DEF tank removal is messing with the CAN BUS system. maybe a simple connector loop would be an inexpensive permanent fix without having to have a DEF tank/module?

been in the tuning and eeprom world for about 10 years. mainly euro and diesel euro. it always takes about 2-3 years to fully unlock, understand, and get all the bugs out of a new car ecu-tcu unlock and tune. Manufacturers are coming up with new ways every year to lock your software and every year we find a way to unlock and bypass it. Whether its a bench, remote, canbus bypass, etc.. it just takes time to find a way around your manufacturer locks and countermeasures, once we figure it out... they change it again.. and we start over.. I feel most customers are understanding of bugs and glitches on newer vehicles and its always appreciated when someone finds a workaround and posts it for everyone to see and have available for free.
