My dad was recently laid off after having worked at the same place for what would’ve been 18 years in October. My mom is a stay-at-home mom so dads income is the only in the family and while I no longer live at home, my 3 brothers still do, as well as my nana and her sister live in the house too so there’s always at least 7 mouths to feed. He was laid off on a Thursday and the following Monday, a job opening that they had been waiting on for MONTHS to open up finally opened and he was offered the job late the following week. The starting pay at this new job is more than what his pay had built up to at the other one after nearly 18 years. For that 2 week stretch there was a lot of uncertainty of what would happen but little did we know it was the perfect timing to open a better opportunity for my dad. Wishing all the same for yall
