Bad genetics ≠ rotten teeth, I’m sorry but I have horrible enamel, my enamel is missing somewhere on my teeth and yet I only have had 2 cavities because well I didn’t brush my teeth at all. My saliva saved my teeth. Unfortunately bad genetics are mostly bad habits and incorrect dental hygiene. My parents teeth are rotten because they only brush like once a day

yes, genetics are important, but oral hygiene is much more. people who dont take care of their teeth always say its genetics. if you have good oral hygiene you can prevent that.

My daughter has the weak teeth gene 😭 we did EVERYTHING “right” and I’ve still spent 3k on her teeth before kindergarten. My sister was the same way. It’s hard out here 😅

Ive been struggling with my teeth ever since I was little bc both my mom and biological father have bad teeth, I have had so much help trying to fix my teeth thanks to my mom who was a ortho assistant who had a lot of connections in the dental field

And bruxism is very common, kids can have it too. Which causes you to grind your enamel off, leading to cavities. In my case, my teeth didn’t form correctly. They formed with DEEP grooves and my molars are weirdly shaped. I’ve have at least 6 fillings just bc I can’t brush all the toooth bc of the deep grooves. And I also have impacted wisdom teeth that are most likely destroying of back molars as I speak. Getting them out asap but obv there’s more factors than just brushing your teeth.

My dad has receding gums and a bunch of other teeth problems, and I inherited his teeth problems. Instead of my mom‘s perfect teeth. It doesn’t matter how much I brush,my gums are always below the line that I think they should be, although my dentists don’t mention it, so maybe I’m not as bad as I think I am.

Both of my parents had dentures in their 20s. I made it to 46 with and full upper and a partial lower. Now, four years later, I'm having problems with my 9 remaining teeth and I can't even wear the partial for more than a meal.
