I wish I knew more about this during my first pregnancy. I was well prepared during my second and found that my left is different than my right.

I use the Willow Go and use the 27mm flange. I have milk ducts in my areola so if I dont use a big flange, I end up with mastitis. Im on my 4th baby and have had an oversupply with all of them.

I'm struggling to find my flange size 🫠 My nips are mostly flat/short and kind of just come to a point. There is no obvious base of the nip for me to measure. Idk where nip ends and areola begins

what does it mean if after a while my nipple gets longer inside and pumping less efficiency?

Not on this topic but my DIL has a new baby that uses her as a pacifier… how or do you stop that. He is not happy unless he is on the breast. He can’t be hungry that often. I don’t know how to help her..

I am four weeks postpartum. I only make about an ounce combined each session. Do you see me producing more or is that just what my body makes? I pump every 3 to 4 hours. I’m making the oatmeal staying hydrated doing all the things. My baby get a few bottles from me a day other than that we’re doing formula.

So off topic but hoping you see this! My 3 month old has been nursing great. All of a sudden he will not nurse on my right side while holding him. He cries and is pissed. Will nurse no problem while laying down though?? I am on the go a lot so I need tips and tricks!! I can’t lay down to feed all the time 😭🤣

I’ve heard you have to have a wall plug in pump (like spectra 1&2) to have proper pumps like emptying and all that… if I’m trying to keep up with a toddler (could end up exclusively pumping after those early days) can I portable pump if I primarily manual (hand) pump

With my first the LC said I was a 24 by just looking. No actual measurements taken. I wish I had known. I’m 35 weeks with my second and measured myself and I’m like a 19. No wonder my first journey didn’t work out. Excited to try again though ❤️

It also boggles my mind that Falanges comes in either a 21 or 24. And that’s it. Bc as a labor nurse I can tell you that maybe one in every 40 moms or so have a nipple that big. Maybe even less than that. No one has a nipple that big!! No one. Every mom I see has a nipple in the 11-13 range. Maybe a 15. It’s crazy. And it’s confusing for new moms who don’t have or receive proper lactation. Bc I have had a LC tell me I’m a 24, not knowing I’m a labor nurse, and I told her she needs to learn sizing bc I’m not a 24. She didn’t like that 😂

I got sized at the hospital and she gave me a free 13mm maymom adapter. Two+ weeks home rarely use it because too snug. Had we gone up one size probably they wouldn’t hurt and rub against the flange walls. Checked with my own sizing kit should be a 14mm -either they grew or were measured incorrectly. Unfortunately still waiting on call from LC referral.

Would you recommend seeing a lactation consultant before having baby, like at the end of pregnancy or waiting until I have my baby to get the correct size? I want to be successful with pumping this time around.

My daughter (3m) was latching amazingly for about 2 months but then we had a massive family emergency which took me away from her for about a weekend and now she won’t latch anymore. Is there anything I can do to try and get her to latch again?
