One of the most interesting projects we worked on was Bambuuz, an African fast food restaurant based in the UK... This wasn’t just another branding job. Bambuuz came to us with a dream: to serve bold, authentic African street meals in a vibrant, modern UK setting but they needed a brand that could speak both languages fluently. That’s where we came in. The came the challenge: How do you wrap the soul of Africa in a brand that feels premium, urban, and universally appealing — without diluting its roots? So, we deviced a process. As a visual designer, this project pushed me beyond aesthetics. It was a journey of culture, color psychology, form, and storytelling. We started by studying traditional African symbols, food rituals, and textures. Then we balanced those with clean, bold visual elements that would stand out on high streets across the UK. We crafted the brand identity from scratch — from logo to color palette, typography, brand tone, and physical store visuals. The “tent” icon in the logo nods to the communal dining culture across many African communities — a modern twist on the village gathering spot. Now, the highlight of this was seeing the brand come alive on the actual restaurant facade — bold, earthy, and proud. People stop. They stare. They ask questions. That’s what great design should do — invite curiosity and connection. Bambuuz is now more than just a restaurant. It’s a conversation piece, a place where food and identity meet. And I’m proud to have played a part in shaping that. See the entire brand guideline here: https://lnkd.in/eVXbSpR6 Would love to hear your thoughts. What do you think makes a culturally rooted brand feel globally relevant? #BrandDesign #viralvideos #RestaurantBranding #trendingnow #Bambuuz #brandstory #DesignThinking #LinkedIn #creatorsearchinsight
