this is the most pointless take. I know it may seem dramatic, but the Jump could be interpreted as a quick boost to take-off faster. similar to how a swimmer pushes off the wall of the pool to gain speed

the ones who fly effortlessly though are flying way slower, but with superman his jump sends him wayy further and he goes faster, think of it like swimming vs kicking off the pool into swimming
